The excitement of the holidays is still in the air, families are together, and everything feels just a little slower.
Maria and Nick couldn’t have chosen a more beautiful time to celebrate their wedding at The Landmark in Mesa, Arizona.
Getting Ready
One of my favorite parts of any wedding day is getting to document all of the little details before the celebration begins.
From the moment I walked into the bridal suite, I knew this day was going to be one I’d remember.
Maria’s style was timeless in every sense. She wore a classic satin gown paired with pearl earrings, a pearl necklace, and the most beautiful pearl-detailed veil.
Every detail felt intentional, elegant, and effortlessly classy. Her bouquet of white roses completed the look perfectly.
From the invitation suite and wedding bands, to the final touches of getting dressed, these are the moments that tell the story before anyone walks down the aisle.
A private first look & Handwritten vows
One of my favorite moments of the day happened before the ceremony.
Instead of waiting until she walked down the aisle, Maria and Nick chose to share a private first look beneath The Landmark’s gazebo before exchanging handwritten vows.
I love when couples build quiet moments like this into their wedding day. Before the timeline fills up and the celebration begins, they get a chance to simply be together.
Watching them laugh, tear up, and soak it all in reminded me that these are often the moments couples remember most. It was peaceful, emotional, and such a beautiful way to begin the next chapter of their lives together.
A Winter Ceremony at The Landmark
One of the things I love most about The Landmark is the beautiful outdoor ceremony space.
Nestled beside the gardens with the charming white gazebo as the backdrop, it feels intimate while still giving everyone the perfect view.
As Maria made her way down the aisle, surrounded by their closest family and friends, every detail came together so beautifully.
The timeless white florals, elegant black tuxedos, and rich emerald green bridesmaid dresses created such a classic look that perfectly complemented the venue.
Golden Hour Portraits Around The Landmark
After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour beneath the string lights while we wandered through the gardens for portraits.
One of the reasons I love photographing weddings at The Landmark is how many beautiful portrait locations there are without ever leaving the property.
Between the gardens, the gazebo, and the soft string lights, every corner feels romantic.
Maria’s pearl veil added the prettiest movement to their portraits, and it quickly became one of my favorite details to photograph throughout the evening. Those images are still some of my favorites from the entire gallery.
A Cozy Winter Reception
As everyone made their way inside, the reception space felt warm and inviting. Since their wedding took place just a few days after Christmas, The Landmark was beautifully decorated with glowing Christmas trees, emerald green accents, and warm lights throughout the venue.
I loved how the holiday décor added so much warmth without taking away from the timeless feel of the day. It felt festive in the most elegant way, creating the perfect setting for a late December wedding in Arizona.
The sweetheart table was framed by softly lit Christmas trees, creating such a beautiful backdrop for dinner, heartfelt toasts, and their first dance.
I especially loved how the seasonal décor blended with their timeless style. It simply felt warm, romantic, and elegant.
A Private Last Dance & Sparkler Exit
Before the night came to a close, Maria and Nick shared a private last dance together. I always love when couples choose to do this.
After spending an entire day surrounded by family and friends, they get one final quiet moment to soak it all in before the celebration comes to an end.
It’s such a simple addition to a wedding day, but it often becomes one of the most meaningful moments.
They finished the evening with a sparkler exit surrounded by the people who love them most - the perfect ending to such a beautiful day.
Looking Back
Looking back through this gallery, what I remember most isn’t just how beautiful everything looked, it’s how the day felt. Intentional. Joyful. Peaceful.
Every detail reflected who Maria and Nick are, but it was the moments in between that made this wedding unforgettable.
