Superstition Mountains Engagement Photos



The Superstition Mountains are one of my favorite places for engagement photos in Arizona. The mountain views make such a beautiful backdrop, while the surrounding desert gives us plenty of space to create a mix of close portraits and wider landscape images.


For this session, we photographed around sunset and caught the prettiest light hitting the mountains. As the sun started to go down, the entire landscape turned warm and golden before transitioning into softer evening light.

An Arizona Desert Engagement Session


One of my favorite things about photographing at the Superstition Mountains is how much variety we can create without needing an elaborate location. We photographed closer portraits surrounded by the desert, incorporated movement and candid moments, and stepped back for some of my favorite wide images that really show off the landscape.


The neutral outfits worked beautifully against the warm tones of the desert and kept the focus on the two of them while still letting the Superstitions be such a big part of the gallery.


As sunset got closer, the light across the mountains became even more dramatic. Those few minutes of golden light ended up creating some of my favorite photographs from the entire session.
